I believe we are invited to a dinner with Judge McGinty one of the nights and it would be nice for the club to get together to watch the womens trials as well as get our normal finish line photo which may have to be rescheduled since the freedom run is cancelled for the trials.

SERC Members Travels

Well Joe Vishey wins the award for most traveling races lately!

Running the Crescent City Classic 10K in New Orleans on 3/22. 175th out of over 17,000 runners in 40:51.
Earlier in the month he ran a 5K in San Antonio on 3/1 and finished 2nd overall and top master.

The next morning ran Moe's Better Half Marathon in San Marcos, TX and finished 17th out of 266 in 1:34:21 (2nd AG), on, in his words "the most god-awful hilly course" (only 9 runners broke 1:30).

Barb Broad left us for sunnier sky's and is busy running up and down Squaw Peak in Phoenix this week.

I braved the snowstorm in Southern Michigan last week to race a trail 5 miler and despite horrible conditions managed to snag 2nd female. We won't even discuss times, lets just say I plan to run my 10k next weekend faster.

Keep me posted on your races and results! Don't forget about the spring classic next weekend (April 5th)

Hope to see everyone at this Sundays run!

SERC Singlets and T-Shirts

This round of SERC apparel orders is complete! If you missed out no worries we will likely have a summer round of orders too.

Thanks for everyone's interest and orders. Shirts should start reaching you by the 12th and 13th. Please be sure to send your money to Janet to ensure you get your order in a timely fashion!

We want to see as many SERC members out and about in SERC apparel as possible. You don't have to be a marathon runner to be a part of the club and you definitely don't need to be running Cleveland or Boston to purchase a singlet or t-shirt. Apparel is open to all SERC members!

In order to cut down on printing costs we are also going to order T-Shirts, great for lounging around post race and promoting the club!

Singlets will be Mizuno. The shirts are Navy with white highlights.

Singlets $26

We will be printing the SERC logo on the singlets and t-shirts.

Basic shorts are $20 and come in split short or basic/longer.

The $20 are just basic shorts, nothing special.

The Maverick Split Short which has a side velcro pocket, or the Mustang Basic Short which has a side zipper pocket. (Womens Maverick) (Womens Mustang) $30

There is also a womens running skirt that comes in Navy, $45

Men's Singlets come in S-XXL
Women's Singlets come in XS-XL

Womens Medium Front

Womens Medium Back (The design in the middle of the back is my sports bra, shirt is actually plain navy on back except shoulders)

Womens Medium Side

Guys Medium Front

T-shirts $10

Thanks!

Elizabeth

Carpooling to the Spring Classic

The annual Spring Classic ½ Marathon in Strongsville will be held on Saturday, Apr. 5 in Strongsville, starting at 9 a.m. It’s put on by our friends on the Westside. From Solon, Strongsville is maybe a 35-40 minute drive. Some of you have run the Spring Classic or perhaps the Fall Classic (same course, same organizers) before. It’s a pretty flat, fast course and will be a great pre-taper race for Boston and a nice training opportunity for the Cleveland Marathon.

Many of us carpooled to the recent Youngstown half and had a great time. It was a nice opportunity to get to know other members better and after the race we went to breakfast/lunch at Bob Evans in Streetsboro. I’m thinking we can carpool to the Spring Classic. Are there any volunteers who’d like to drive? I’ve registered for the race and am about 80% sure I’ll run it so long as it aligns with my Mohican 100 training. I’ll know a week in advance and, if I do go, will be glad to take 3 others with me. If you’re interested in driving or carpooling with someone else, please let me know and I’ll pass the word onto the club. You can reach me at wchornsby at yahoo.

You can register for the Spring Classic by mail or through Active.com.
